New Approach for Rating Home Biz Opportunities
by: Roger Staubus
Copyright 2008 Roger Staubus

Type "home biz opportunity" into Google's search engine and you will get about 10 Million entries. Also, there were 409,212 searches using the search term "home-based business." This new approach to rating "home biz opportunities" is based on 11 objective major criteria and 7 minor criteria. There are no web sites that only rate home biz opps, only those that review some opps only to point you to their specific opportunity.

Each major attribute can earn 7 points, and each of the 7 minor attributes can earn 3 points each. Ratings will be: Excellent, Good, Average, Poor, and Scam. Excellent requires a score of 90 or above, Good requires a score of 70 or above, Average requires a score of 50 or above, Poor requires a score of 30 or above, and Scams get no score at all. The score totals mentioned above are for all 11 major attributes and the 7 minor attributes. The perfect home business opportunity would score a 98 using these criteria. However, there are no perfect home business opportunities, no matter what the promotion brochures say for a specific opportunity.

Some of the many questions or considerations involved in rating a home business are-

How big is this market?
What is the industry trend?
Is the industry expanding?
What is the nature of the product or service?
Is the product consumable?
How is the product delivered to the customer?
Is there a proven business system?
Is there a good support system?
Is the company well respected?
Will you be ahead of or behind the trends?
Are you early or late in the product and industry cycle?
Do the products provide value for the cost to the end user?
Does the company have any exclusivity or patents?
Regarding the competition, who are you marketing against?
Are there good profit margins?
What is the payment or commission scheme?
What are the sales methods involved?
Is the company "On the Net" and are they E-Commerce enabled?
What level of administration is required?
Is training available from your upline?
How great is the potential to make money in this business?
Do you know someone with experience in this business?
Do you have to do all the work or can you earn overrides?
What is your gut feeling?
Will the company train you?
How soon will my investment come back to me as profit?
Can I work this business at my own pace?
How long has the company been in business?

As you can see from just the limited set of questions above, there are a lot of things to consider before you decide to invest your time and/or money in any home business opportunity.

THE NEW OBJECTIVE APPROACH

This system used to rate home biz opps is based on 11 primary considerations and 7 minor considerations. They are-

Primary
1. Product or service
2. Product price and market competition
3. Company
4. Proven business system
5. Available support system
6. Available training and resources
7. Compensation system
8. Profitability
9. Costs involved - both startup and recurring costs
10.Will I have full control over my business
11.Can I work this business at my own pace

Minor
1. How is the product delivered to the customer
2. Does the product/service have an automated delivery capability
3. Is the company "On the Net" and E-Commerce enabled
4. Are you supplied with business tools to make your live easier
5. What level of administration is required
6. Consider whether you will be ahead of or behind the trends
7. How great is the potential to make money in this business

Using these objective factors will save those looking for home biz opps a lot of time and many dollars that would otherwise be wasted.

Marketing Your eZine
by: Dirk Wagner
Copyright 2004 Dirk Wagner

The internet marketing “Guru’s” have been saying for years that the “money is in the list”. In other words, having thousand’s of subscribers to your ezine or newsletter increases your chances of potential sales.
It is pretty hard to dispute that quote but how do you go about getting those thousand’s of subscribers to sign up for your ezine?

I use three primary ways to get interested subscribers to sign up for my ezine. Purchased leads and subscription services, ezine directories and article writing.

Purchased Leads/Subscription Services

Purchased leads and subscription services work with you to get subscribers to sign up for your ezine. You agree to purchase x amount of subscribers per month from a subscription service for a fee and they will advertise your ezine for you until they have filled the amount of subscribers you have purchased. Most companies will always give you more than the amount you purchased due to bad email addresses, removals, and undelivered emails. Subscription services are ideal for anyone that is first starting out as a way to get quite a few subscribers in a relatively short amount of time. You will also have a choice of single opt-in or double-in subscribers. Double opt-in subscribers actually have to reply to an email to validate that they are interested in your ezine, where single opt-in will get your ezine automatically. There are many subscription services to choose from and I advise trying different ones because every list is different.

EZine Directories

Ezine directories are websites that will allow you to submit your ezine to their website. There are free and paid directories. You submit your url for your ezine and a short ad about your ezine and that is it. Here are few examples of some ezine directories I use.
http://www.bestezines.com
http://www.ezineadvertising.com/
http://www.ezine-dir.com/
http://www.ezinelocater.com/
http://www.ezine-marketing.com/
http://www.ezinesearch.com
http://www.ezine-swap.com/
http://www.ezine-universe.com/
http://www.ezinepublisher.org/
You may also do a search at http://www.google.com for more ezine directories.

Writing Articles

Writing articles is a great way of promoting your ezine, website, or products. Simply write a short article of 500-1000 words on the subject of your choice, preferably about your home business and submit them to article directories. At the end of each article you get to use a author resource box to tell the reader about yourself. This is where you promote your ezine, website or product. Use four to six lines to give your name and details. Then submit your article to article directories that are always looking for quality content. Here are some of the article directories I use.

http://www.addme.com/nlsubmit.htm
http://www.allnetarticles.com/
http://www.articlecentral.com/
http://www.articlecity.com/
http://www.articles911.com/
http://www.bestparentingresources.com/Article.html
http://www.boconline.com/sub-art.htm
http://www.business-dynamics.com/resource_library/index.html
http://www.businesstoolchest.com/articles/submit.shtml
http://www.bytesworth.com/articles/
http://cerebuswebmaster.com/onsite/articles.html
http://www.certificate.net/wwio/ideas.shtml
http://www.clickforcontent.com/
http://www.connectionteam.com/
http://www.digital-women.com/submitarticle.htm

Tools

There are some tools you will need in order to deliver your ezine to your subscribers. A good autoresponder is a must if you hope to have thousands of subscribers to your ezine. Autoresponders house your ezine and subscribers on one system and automatically send your ezine to your subscribers. The autoresponder takes care of when to send the subscriber the next addition of your ezine based on the intervals you set.
Another good tool to use is a pop-up or pop-over ad on your website for those that are visiting your website. The pop-up/over ad will capture the prospects name and email address and send it directly to your autoreponder. Once you have them in your autoresponder you start to develop a trust relationship with your subscribers, this is important because once your subscriber feels like they can trust you they are more likely to buy what you are selling. Good luck with your ezine marketing!

Marketing your home business for big profits
by: Jim Noel
Copyright 2004 Jim Noel

Marketing your home business for big profits takes some due diligence and the right resources.

In 1999 I started a home based business, and I submitted my website to every search engine that would take it from here to the North Pole.

I submitted classified ads; I had more links on my website, than Carter has pills.

I bought the submission software’s, the top ads on classified ad sites, the linking programs and so on.

I had about $500 to spend on this venture and I spent it all on marketing.

Yes I got a few hits, and some replies. But after a year of not really getting off the ground, I closed down shop and stuck my tail between my legs and just took the loss and figured this home business stuff was not to done.

Jan 2004 I wanted to try this home business venture again, only this time I was going to some research on home business and how people succeed in it.

I read news articles on the internet, went into forums to see what others were doing, and so on. Found out quickly everyone has an opinion on what works and what doesn’t.

Well I did learn quite a bit, like on my first venture I was linking to every website that would take my link. I found out, it is not the amount of links; it is the quality of websites you link to.

That was one mistake. Found out also that these submission software’s and programs are not all that great either.

After about 6 months of research and reading, I reopened a new home business in July 2004. I applied what I had learned to this business.

To my surprise after about 2 weeks I started getting some affiliates, had a couple sales, and things were off and running.

A little over a month went buy and I was continuing to make progress, and then I stumbled on to what I consider is one of the best business tools out there.

It was an organization that had all the proven tools, resources, experts, materials, books you name it on how to get make big profits on your home business.

Well I signed up, and for once that was the best money I spent, a low monthly fee for all of there resources. Well let’s just say, that in 1 month my profits doubled.

The next month they doubled again! All this buy just having the right resources and tools at my disposal, is what made the difference in 2004, compared to my flop in 1999.

I turn 45 years old in 2008, and have planned on retiring from my full time job in the aerospace industry. My home business as gotten so big and so profitable that I know longer need my other job.

You know what J.O.B. stands for (Just over Broke). Well I know longer need to worry about that, now that I have the financial freedom to support my family for years to come.

Is Your MLM/Multilevel Marketing Business Legitimate?
by: Ted Riley
Copyright 2004 Android Technologies, Inc.

INTRODUCTION

A legitimate multilevel marketing business is a great way to get a legitimate residual income that could change your life from the 9-5 rut to a life of financial freedom. But there are many pitfalls out there that will make achieving this difficult. (Or even illegal depending on the MLM you decide to sign up with.)

There are several ways for a person to ascertain whether or not a multi level marketing company is or is not a legitimate MLM. There are a few things that can be checked to make sure you are not going to get involved in something that breaks the fifty or so statutes that govern this type of company.

TYPE OF PRODUCT

One of the ways to separate the legitimate MLM from the scams is by looking at the type of product that the multilevel marketing home business will provide. Many multilevel marketing home business ideas work on the principle that they will be charging way too much for the service or product they will provide. So check that the company is charging a fair price for their product. Also check that you can become involved with the company without having to pay for a huge amount of inventory. This is also the way that many scams operate, on the idea of selling to people who think that they will be selling in large volume from the get go and not caring what happens to the investor after that. If you have to invest thousands in a multilevel marketing idea then it is best to head in the other direction fast.

It is best to ensure that you can be a sales representative with little or no more than the purchase of a sales kit or demonstration materials.

COMPENSATION PLAN

Looking at the compensation plans of your prospective multilevel marketing company is one fo the best indicators as to whether or not it is a scam. Check whether the compensation plan pays bonuses or commissions purely on the basis of recruiting more people into the company. If it does, it is illegal. It is also not a legitimate MLM if it pays headhunting fees as this is also illegal.

A home business idea such as a legitimate MLM is great because of the relatively low financial risk involved. This may not ring true to the work at home business ideas you have seen but the good multi level marketing companies will buy back the sales kit and any re-sellable materials from any of those who wish to cancel. This is actually required by law so have a look at this before handing any money over.

PERSONAL USE OF GOODS

The FTC also rejects the idea of personal use of the goods or services that you will be providing as a legitimate retail sale. But the debate continues over whether or not the sales to non-participants and purchases in reasonable amounts are retail. There are big grey areas in the world of multilevel marketing so keep abreast of the laws and statutes in your state.

TRAINING

Probably the single best way to ascertain whether or not a company is a legitimate MLM is to look at the training that will be provided in the way of sales and recruitment. Any company worth its salt will want to have people who know what they are doing. So they will provide training to those who have little or no idea how to sell or market a product.

Also, having a clear idea as to what you will be doing is important in choosing a work at home multilevel marketing business. It is astounding to see how many companies do not stipulate whether or not you will be in a selling, supervising, distributing or soliciting role which is required under federal law.

Know this before you start your home business
by: Arun Pal Singh
Copyright 2008 Arun Pal Singh

As 2008 dawns on earth I am quite thoughtful. Many persons started their business in 2004. Some succeeded and some left disappointed.

This New Year would bring many new home entrepreneurs to the net. How many of them would continue with what they started? How many would leave disappointed and disgruntled? How many of them would become a source of inspiration for others in waiting? How many would detest many others just because they failed.

I hear crackers bursting as people welcome New Year with full celebrations.

For those who have left, I feel sorry. They have left a road to wealth, richness and freedom from daily grind.

For those who are about to begin, I extend my welcome. 2008 is predicted to be the best year till date for home business. Equally for those who are making millions right now or just starting.

Whatever kind of business you are in, wherever you are from, home business will make you rich.

The reason many people do not start a home business is because they think they can’t do it. The reason why people leave it is because they expect instant results.

Every body knows good fruits take time to yield. It is same with your home business.

Whether you plan to sell your own products or join affiliate programmes, patience and perseverance is the name of the game. You must maintain your efforts. Give your business time to mature. Otherwise one falls into traps of frustration and frustrated man cannot think clearly.

Clarity of thought is must for success.

Without going into finer details these are prerequisites of home business. Each of that can be searched for and you would get enough details

•A product to sell (Create your own or sell other’s). Your own product can be either digital (e-book) or physical (book). Internet sells almost everything. With some efforts you can sell your product too.

If you do not have one you can join affiliate programmes of already selling products. It is simple. you sell their product and they give you commission on every sale. They have made a sale, they are happy. You make money you are happier.

•A website for your products. This is you web store to host the product you choose to sell. If people who visit your store choose to buy, you make money. Millions of people use internet everyday. You can imagine the scope.

•Hosting. This is space on the web land where your web site will be placed. These services are available both free of cost and at a price.Price varies as per service provider and what you are looking for. But if you aim for professional results use the paid ones.

•Promoting your site. This is to let people know that you have a store which sells those products. This is the difficult part but as you gather knowledge it becomes easier too. Various marketing strategies are available in plenty. You can use as per your budget.

Just a word of caution. Don’t spend your money on hypes promising instant results. There is nothing like that even on the net.

Once you start, start with full throttle. Do not hesitate for hesitation will hold you back. Learn the essentials as you go along. Gather knowledge and use it for expansion of your business.

I again welcome you decision to start home business. It will be a promising year, I promise.

Good luck.

Internet Home Business Secrets That Payoff!
by: Jeff Smith
I can picture you exactly where I was just a few short
years ago --

Sitting in another useless meeting organized by a group
of senior managers that have a combined IQ less than your
own child at 3-months old.

Around in circles you go, no progress again today and
only those who play the game the best will collect the
bigger paychecks - but even they can't outlast this game
of roulette can they?

Listen - I get asked often, even by my own wife, "why are
you so driven!"

It's true, these days I am passionate about just about
everything I do - especially my internet home business.

Why?

Is it the thought of a new porsche sitting in my driveway
that motivated me to succeed with my internet home business?

What about cruising up and down the Pacific Coast in my
new yacht?

Maybe it's being able to take a dream vacation to Australia
and New Zealand?

Nope! You guessed wrong.

In fact, what motivates me everyday is the thought of having
my time, energy, health and family UNDER THE CONTROL of someone
other than myself scares the heck out of me.

I mean all out spiders on my face, snakes in my bed and lizards
in my pants scared!

When I hit 30 back several years ago - I was in a hotel, alone
on business in downtown London, England.

Incredible city, but I realized that after spending 29 birthdays
with my family - I was FORCED to spend this one alone thousands of
miles from home.

Every day after, I became incensed each time someone at my old
job controlled some aspect of my time, health, energy or family.

I don't mean a little upset - I mean DEEPLY ANGRY.

There's only two ways to deal with something like that in your
life - curl over and die a slow death or take action until
you change the circumstances

Trick was, to channel that anger in the right direction - postive
instead of negative.

Then I discovered something incredibly powerful --

Anger and Pain Are Part of the Formula for Success!

Name me any highly successful person and chances are I can find
a burning, gut-churning, unstoppable force within them that will
not let them fail. That force usually comes from anger or pain.

LET ME SAVE YOU 5-YEARS OR MORE....

Even with this incredible passion I had to control my own destiny,
success didn't come right away.

I tried opportunity after opportunity, scam after scam, UNTIL...

THE HOLY GRAIL - Internet Home Business

Ever since the beginning of business, the same principles hold
true - you must have;

1. Compelling product to reachable market
2. Competitive Advantage or Unique Selling Proposition
3. Operation plan that is profitable
4. Constant Plan, Do and Review process to increase profits

Whether you want to market other people's products online or
create your own products or services, you must follow these
fundamental business principles.

What's great about an internet home business is:

1. You can find reachable markets and compelling product
ideas sitting in your office in your underwear

2. You can easily discover and communicate your Unique Selling
Proposition without having to spend thousands on competitive
intelligence

3. You can develop very profitable operational plans taking
advantage of instant download, or build to order systems

4. It's easier, and less risky than ever before to continually
test and improve your internet home business.

So - snap out of it!

Stop settling for whatever it is that is eating away at you!

Take action - right now!

Find out all you can about starting and building your own
internet home business - turn your anger or pain into health
and happiness today.

Is Home Business Really a Business
by: Preeti Srivastava
Home business, doesn’t it strikes you? But then another question hammers in your mind, whether it is a credible & lucrative business just like others? This is a never ending argument between Successful and Botched people who tried this business. Do you know that only 2 % people are successful in home business and 98% are failures. Can you think of who are those 2 percenters. successors?

Why majority people are botched? Let me discuss some core issues about home business.

What is the Home Business?

A business you can operate from your home in flexible hrs. You will be your own boss. There is only a small investment and above all you can work with World’s Top marketing companies. You can earn decent money for your efforts and knowledge.

Who is the right person to do it?

In my opinion everybody can do this business, who have a strong urge to do something with certain level of commitment and dedication. But one can generate a handsome income only after having accumulated a reasonable knowledge about marketing techniques, knowledge of your target audience/market and certainly latest promotional tools, because INTERNET is the fastest way to market your products and services. A good knowledge of email marketing, websites and search engines will be additives to your income & success. You must be innovative and creative while marketing your products and services. There are no set rules, every successful marketers have developed their own strategies. You will also learn when you decide not to quit but to persist your enthu to succeed.

Is it worth to invest money in home business?

YES! I say yes, if you are really serious about this business you have to invest some money wisely just like any other business. For eg. if you are planning to open a shop, you need space at a high traffic area, you need some hot selling products, you have to do some interior to make it attractive and last but not least you have to advertise your business to get customers. All the above requires wealth/capital to invest. Right! Same basic rule also applies in home business.

Why 98% peoples fails?

This is a naked and callous truth about home business that 98 % people are failures. The foremost reason is lack of knowledge, patience and earnestness. Most of the people joins Network marketing companies to earn quick money without doing anything. They endeavor it for few months and then give up. They never attempt to learn the right techniques and strategies, they only want some quick bucks. They don’t be bothered for their customers or downline. They are reluctant to solve the problems of their customers and downline, which results in dissatisfaction and frustration and then finally surrender. This ends the business in itself because ‘U’ ultimately will end up with no earning and get only a ruined business.

Who are the Successful 2 percenters?

These 2 per centers are the people who never quit and have faith in themselves. They learn from their mistakes and imbibe a lot more from apex of these businesses. They motivate themselves endlessly and help others in their downline to achieve the same. They are taking towering risk as they know that nothing comes without efforts. They strive to imitate and generate new ideas from their upline and other successful Marketers. They always welcome new ideas, believes in acceptance, always ready to take risk, and have a ‘NEVER SAY DIE’ Attitude. Believes strongly in “If someone can earn, then why can’t I?”

Why more and more people are going for it?

According to my study and observation, a lot more individuals are looking for home business opportunities and the only one main reason is ‘TIME’. Today maximum no. of populace is fed up of their working schedules, jobs and lifestyle. There is no time for the family, oneself and/or society. A hate feeling has developed for routine 9 to 6 hrs job as the maximum times goes in commutation (3-4 hrs. daily) from home to office and then office to home. After a long drenching day reached home fully exhausted and frustrated. So the Idea of home business always fascinates them. They would have always dreamt about it. That’s why every 45 second someone has joined the home business worldwide. It is an alarming figure and more and more people opt home business as substitute earning source. You know 90% of the working mothers don’t have more then 2 hrs daily for their kids. This is very provoking for both mothers and kids, their family bonding is at a risk. The only solution for this problem is owning home business where one can not only earn well but also have a suffice time for family and oneself.

In my opinion everybody has a right to live freely and must devote enough time with their family. So joining a home business is really good decision but mind you, you have to work smartly and not hard. Now days a lot of successful marketers are ready to share their secrets with you and you get all valuable information for just a few bucks. If you are really thinking about to start a home business consider some points before you join:

1) Check the company’s reputation, their promoters their products and existence of company and Track record.
2) Check if the company paying their affiliates timely.
3) Is the products are really good quality.
4) Is your upline supportive.

Once you verify the above points, go and join it and start working as this is your own business. If you are determined and ready to learn, you will definitely win.

Best of luck for your successful home business.

Home Business Success - 5 Things You Learn From Your Ex-Boss
by: Gobala Krishnan
Copyright 2008 Gobala Krishnan

In the past, everyone could take pride in working for large, multinational companies. The current trend of downsizing and outsourcing, however, has brought major changes in the employment landscape. One thing for sure, as job security becomes a thing of the past, many are turning towards starting their own home based businesses.

Job security has its merits, and a home business is, arguably, not for everyone. But for those who are interested in making this shift, a change in mentality is absolutely important. There are many bad habits that lie dormant in all of us. You need to change these bad habits and develop new good habits to survive as an entrepreneur. And in many cases these can be 'borrowed' from your existing or former corporate work environment.

Here are some new disciplines that you can borrow from your working life, to develop and to practice:

1) Ownership and Decision Making

In corporate culture, you are responsible only for what your job requires you to do. In most jobs however, you are hardly responsible for the survival of the company. Your contribution, as compared to the whole, is only marginal. You can make mistakes and get away with it. Your job is easily replaceable.

As an entrepreneur, however, you may find the world to be less forgiving. A mistake can cost you your entire business. It is vital for anyone who wants to start their own home based business to think about this fact. You have to realize that success in a home based venture is directly tied up to your actions, and you need to take responsibility for everything that happens.

In your own business, you need to go beyond your capacity at times, stretching yourself more than you would as an employee. Taking responsibility also means being able to make the correct decisions as and when needed. When you work from home, YOUR decision is final. Although it may a little scary for an entrepreneur at first, these habits practiced over time becomes second nature.

It sure beats having to put up with corporate red-tape!

2) Developing a Creative Mindset & Taking Risks

Companies hardly, if ever, reward you for being creative. They do, however, reward you for showing up on time and completing your daily routines. You are rewarded not for being outstanding, but for being average.

As an entrepreneur, you need to shake off the bad habit of doing things the usual way, the "way it's always been done" There is nothing wrong with using standard procedures and methods. In fact, sticking to the 'rules' can help you make a decent living. But if you want the big money, like I do, you need to start thinking "Outside the Box". A little bit of ingenuity in your business can save you a lot of money and time.

Ingenuity involves finding solutions to a problem. You may, at any stage of your home business, realize that you just don't have an abundance of resources. Resources in this context can be money, time, expertise or just about everything else that you need, but just don't have...

As you might have figured, creativity comes with risk. Doing something new is more risky than doing it the old way, but the payoff is incredible. Thinking outside the box might result in failure, just as well as it might lead to amazing success. But risk is not necessarily a bad thing, especially when it is studied, anticipated and even welcomed.

So what do you do?

Most home business challenges can be solved, even if you are not a genius or have thousands of dollars to spend. If you can just use your ingenuity, you can find a solution to these challenges.

Figure out how to make the best of your advertising dollars. Figure out how to save time and automate your business. Figure out how to complement your skills using the skills of others. Small steps like these can go a long way in determining just how successful you will be.

3) Making Your Own Rules & Organizing Time

Imagine you arrive at work one day and find that the punch-card machine has been removed. The company also fired your boss, and the new rules say that you can come in at any time you want, bring your wife and kids along, and take as many breaks as you want. Shorts and a T-shirts are now the standard, accepted work attire.

What would you do?

I know what I would do - absolutely nothing at all! I would take advantage of the situation, and do absolutely no work at all. As days go by, I get lazier and eventually become a total slob.

A home business environment is not much different from the scenario above. In the absence of corporate rules, you must develop your own self imposed "home business rules". Set a time for work, for play, and for household activities. If you just decide to "go with the flow", you often get no where at all.

I used to think that money was the most important asset of my home business. Being quite naive, I thought that with more money, I could be successful faster. After all, money is king. With more money, I could buy more "big time" advertising, hire assistants and equip my business with the best software systems.

It didn't take me long to realize that time is more important than money. Money simply cannot buy time. But with more time, I can all make all the money I want. Put in another way, I would say that MORE TIME is more important than just MORE MONEY. But none of us, not you, nor me, can have more than 24 hours a day at our disposal.

So, as a home business entrepreneur, we need to ultimately learn how to make the best use of the time that we have. This easy to say, but it will take discipline to see it through. Discipline is not easy to achieve, but it CAN be done. Just focus on doing a little bit every day, and stick to the timeline you had laid out, and you will get into the productive rhythm that comes with discipline.

4) Continuous Self-improvement

The home business arena is highly competitive. As an entrepreneur you will need to keep up with any event that will effect your business, for better or worse.

Corporations usually have mandatory training courses for all employees. If you are someone who attended these courses just to get away from doing work, or just to get some extra sleeping time in the class, then you need to change your attitude.

As an entrepreneur you must to find ways to enrich yourself with more knowledge. Take that accounting class, attend that local business seminar and read related books. Don't see these as additional expenses, see them as long term investment. An investment in knowledge, after all, yields the best return.

Every type of business is subject to slowdowns. If you do not continuously improve your skills and knowledge, simply throwing in more money or hiring more people when that happens will not solve the problem. The only way to move forward, to get to "the next level" is to acquire new knowledge. New knowledge opens up more opportunities for your business.

5) Commitment to Your Goals & Deadlines for Success

"I want this on my desk by 2.00pm".

Sounds familiar? Most of us seek a home based business because we want to escape the pressures of a 9-5 job. The word "deadline" may send a shiver through your spine.

The irony, however, is that deadlines are EXACTLY what you need to succeed in just about anything. As an entrepreneur, these deadlines always are, and must be, self-imposed. There are many book on how to set and achieve goals (my recommendations at http://www.home-business-association.com/books/) and I suggest you read as many as you can.

Having family around you can be used to your advantage. Communicate your goals to your wife or husband. Promise your kids a vacation when you've finished a major task. Soon, you will get little "bosses" running around telling you to stop watching TV and get to your work. Well, at least they are "adorable" bosses!

An excerpt from the book 'Think and Grow Rich' by Napoleon Hill (pg. 15):

...a great warrior faced a situation which made it necessary for him to make a decision which insured his success on the battlefield. He... gave the order to burn the ships that carried them. Addressing his men before the first battle he said "You see the boats going up in smoke? That means that we cannot leave these shores alive unless we win! We now have no choice - We win - or we perish".

They won.

And no matter what YOUR goals are in seeking self-employment and an entrepreneurial life, with commitment to your goals and determination to meet your deadlines, you too will win. Take the positive aspects of your current of former work environment to build a healthy and productive home business mentality to ensure that you are heading towards success.

Here's to your success. Cheers.

Home Business Success is All In The Mind
by: Mal Keenan
Copyright 2008 Mal Keenan

Having attended my first Internet marketing seminar, hosted by Frank Garon in the U.K on June 11th/12th, I am not surprised at the content of each speaker's presentations.

Now before you go tell the online world that Mal Keenan is branding Frank Garon's seminars as predictable, let me explain.....

Noticing the top of each speakers' list of topics for discussion, each contributor had one thing in common, and that was the word "Mindset" or a similar term relating to the attitude with which you approach your online business.

You see I have always held the view, and it was confirmed at this conference, that you MUST get your head right before you even think about becoming a success at ANYTHING. My home business newsletter( http://www.home-business-tips-newsletter.com/ ) for a long time now has given equal space to the "Mindset for success" aspect of business......I have made a point to feature a success article every week aswel as an Internet Marketing "how to" article. The ATTITUDE is AS Important as the DOING.

Success IS NOT going to come overnight and it is better that you enter into a business venture with this fact in mind. Of all the successful people online, the vast majority have persisted for quite some time and surmounted many obstacles to get to where they are today.

Hard work is also involved....time should be set aside daily to work non-stop on your current project. "Non-stop" meaning avoidance of too much time spent on useless activities like constantly checking your commission statistics or email accounts for new sales. I have been guilty of this time waster in the past and even to this day.

Focus on your business and engage in at least one positive thing daily to add value to your business.

Look at the beliefs that may be holding you back, for instance, do you secretly harbor a belief that too much money will bring more responsibility than you can handle? You need to drop this idea immediately or it will sabotage all your success efforts.

In conclusion, one should devote equal time to working on the "inner" beliefs that propel or hinder our business success as to the planning and hard work that it takes to reach our goals.

Grow your Internet Business with Pay Per Click Search Engine
by: Arthur
By © Arthur, The Online Internet Home Business Opportunity

As you probably know, Google is the world largest search engine serving around 200 million requests of information a day at the time of writing this article. With such a large users based, no wonder many internet businesses are currently making use of Google Adwords (http://adwords.google.com) to GROW their internet business.

With a small activation fees of US$5.00, you can start getting high quality traffics to your website. Bidding for Adwords start from a range of US$0.05 - US$100

However, it doesn't mean that you should rush into Google Adwords without any proper plans.

First determined which MARKETS are you TARGETING and how you want to market your products or services. For e.g. if you are selling an affiliate product, first find out information like:

- is it a global products/services that is available and delivered for every country
- the Language of the Target market
- which countries are internet savvy and more likely to buy your products/services
- is there any payment restriction for e.g. clickbank and paypal both have their countries restriction where payment will not be accepted. You will be wasting your money if you include those countries in Google Adwords.

Next, with the above information collected, you can start to write out your Adwords bidding strategy.

You will burn a hole in your pocket if you just bid for two keywords like [home business]. To lower your cost per
click, try bidding for a combination of words.

For example:
- based business home home make money online work
- make money at home easy home business
- business earn home make money money online work

Bidding for adwords required research, trail and error. Normally, PPC like Google Adwords will have a keywords research tools which allows you to research common search words. Try to think of as many different
combination of words that you think you'll used to search for a home business opportunity. Also, you can asked your family members or friends what word will they used if they were searching for a home business opportunity.

With the bidding plan in place, you should now think about how you can capture as many email address as you can when the visitors click through to your website. The COST per click is already there and normally, it take a human 7 days to consider before they take any buying actions.

Many PPC Marketers will have either a free ezine or short marketing course with an autoresponder to capture their web visitors email address so that they can follow-up with them.

Finally, monitor your Sales Conversion result for each PPC promotions and check whether are you targeting the correct markets with those keywords which you have bid.

If you plan wisely before embarking your PPC promotion, you can actually maximize your Income against your cost.

Wishing you success in using PPC promotion for your Internet Business.

Finding What You Want With Your Home Business
by: Jennifer Schilling
http:// www.thinkingfaster.com/successsite.html

Do you know what you really want to do for your job?

Some people dream about starting their own business and know what type of business they want to create immediately. Then there are the rest of us...

Knowing we want to have a business is only the first step in starting. Many of us then struggle deciding the type of business we would like to start. We might brain storm the Internet for ideas but no idea seems to be what we really want. Does this sound like something you have gone through at least once in your life?

Actually liking the type of business you choose is the key to success with your home based business venture. Be sure to pick a home business that you'll enjoy waking up for every morning and can't wait to come back to day after day. Don't pick something which you might have trouble being motivated to keep on doing in the future.

Here are a few ideas which can ease the process in the beginning of starting your home based business.

From selling e-books on the Internet, to making soaps for sale at various specialty stores or boutiques, profits are out there to be made by filing the NEED for a specific NICHE. You can literally choose from hundreds of lucrative home business ideas for every type of personality and start up costs desired.

One simple type of business to start is a Franchise based business. Franchises offer a solid money making business which has already been established or operated under an authorization to sell or distribute a company's goods or services in a particular area.

Franchises usually are a simple pre-packaged money making ideas, but usually call for large start up costs. Many franchises such as McDonalds charge over a million dollars to get in the door. With those type of large start up costs, very few people have that type of money to start their own company.

Once you have agreed to all of the franchise guidelines, you must follow many different rules and regulations set out by the franchised company prohibiting you from branching out on your own.

For those who want to branch out on their own, you might want to start a home based business which is already a hobby you enjoy. For example, if you are a fitness guru, a home training consultant service just might be the ideal home business for you to start.

Perhaps traveling is your passion and you'd like to start your own home based traveling service or travel agency. Take something that might be a hobby for you and turn that into a creative home based business. Both of the above examples can be successfully run from the comfort of your own home.

When brainstorming new ideas for your future home business, keep in mind any successful endeavor must provide a product or service that others will actually purchase and keep coming back for more. Your home based business will be well on its way to success by satisfying the needs of your target market.

Here are some suggestions for home business ideas that might help you decide on a suitable home based business.

1. Turn your hobby in a lucrative business.
2. Use open markets and flea markets to sell your goods.
3. Sell your crafts and jewelry, soaps or gift baskets.
4. Provide a delivery service for laundry or groceries.
5. Provide a dog walking and kennel vacation service.
6. Pet grooming service and dog sitting.
7. Provide a shuttle service for non-drivers.
8. Creative a service or company for your neighborhood or community.
9. Join a multi-level marketing business.
10. Floral services for hospitals.
11. Vending machine service.
12. Selling video game machines.
13. Making gift baskets for special occasions.
14. Windshield repair service.
15. Business card designer.

26. Dating/companion service.
27. Affiliate program marketer.
28. Disaster relief forum.

And the list goes on....

Any home based business has the potential to explode into a profitable business. The demand for your home business niche determines whether or not your business will be slow and steady or heavy hit with clients.

Whether or not your business is slow or thriving, you will have to make the necessary choices in order to keep up with the demand. Make sure you enlist the necessary tools to make your business a profitable one as well as one that keeps you coming back for more day after day.

Best of luck with your new endeavors!

How the Home Business Industry Is Changing
by: Jennifer Schilling
Back in the early 1990's, not too many people used the Internet for a home business. There was an explosion of companies showing up everywhere by late 1998. Ever since 1998, home businesses have been even more popular than ever.

Many of the Internet companies of the 1990's did not need to do all too much to get people to join their programs or buy their products. Life was very easy going. People did very little work and saw quite a reasonable paycheck.

Many people were being bombarded by different Internet opportunities left and right. The people selling these opportunities were playing a numbers game by flooding everyone possible with a chance to cash in on the Internet Marketing Revolution.

These people enjoyed a very comfortable period of time up until about 2003 even when Internet Business was going bad. We saw more and more businesses pop up with the hope of making money out of nothing just over night...

Well just like the fall of the dot.com's there has been a fall in Internet marketing businesses. If you are going to stay in the race, you have to regroup and follow what people want today...

Internet business marketers of 1998 to 2003 had an easy life. They put up their site, paid for marketing and had people join. They didn't need to pay all too much attention to details because if you had a "website" people would buy from that website. Cashing in on the Internet Gold Rush was a dream come true.

Many Internet marketers saw instant results and thought that is how life is going to be...The American population as a whole got into this mindset as well, much like the dot.com boom.

The time is now 2008 and many of these people have dropped out. In order to stay, you need to be unique to survive. Most importantly, you need to follow some of the same techniques that worked for people before the Internet. Just as those pre-internet people have followed the same marketing techniques used in the mail order business.

Internet Marketing Techniques for the year 2008 and beyond have changed.

If you haven't already figured it out, there is a bit more work involved to get customers. People already have the "what is in it for me mindset" before even going to your web site...

So you must provide them specifically with that type of information...

Here are a few guidelines to follow:

Providing original helpful free content is key.
Provide your visitors something of value.
Make sure you stay up Internet technology.
Provide your readers with something that keeps them coming back.
Provide your readers with good, timely customer service.
Most important, teach them what you have been taught.
You must truly want to help others achieve success.

Lastly keep it simple. Don't reinvent the wheel or do something new. You can get what you want if you help others get what they want as well. You want to look for a system that has leadership, customized recruiting tools and the directional leadership to get you off running smoothly.

How to start a home business.
by: Patric Chan
Copyright 2004 Patric Chan

Do you know that it’s possible for a housewife or a ‘one-man-show’ around the world to start a home business for full time income?

It’s possible. And I'm going to tell you what you need and how to do it.

First you need to get an extra phone line, fax and a computer in your home. This should be different from your existing home phone line or computer. That was easy to get started, wasn't it?

The secret to start a home business quick and profitable is to be a ‘middle man’ between the prospects and the products or services they are looking for. It’s that simple! Of course you can create your own products or services to sell, but why go through the hassle in the early stages of getting started? By being the ‘middle man’, you can get started immediately.

Then, you have to determine whether you want to be a ‘middle man’ for a product or service oriented business. Both will give you the same benefits. Even if it’s product oriented, you are not be producing it. You are just merely getting it from someone and passing it to the customer. Therefore, you should not have any inventory. However, I’ll prefer to be involved in service oriented home business because it’s less ‘sticky’. Products may have more issues such as delivery, order fulfillment, product return and so on.

Here are 3 ways you can immediately start a home business by being a ‘middle man’ for a service oriented home business:

1. Human Resource ‘Department’

Do you know that many companies are hiring and many people are looking for a job? This is one of the best opportunities that you can get started immediately. It’s low cost, almost zero in cost. Go to all the offices and factories in your city and tell the human resource manager/department that you want to help them find reliable staff. They will have a list of vacancies. Get all the details. Compile it and start announcing to the public what vacancies you have to offer! You can make money from either the company or anyone who gets a job from your help. You decide how much commission you want. If the company already has their own commission scheme, you can just earn from there.

2. Real Estate

You'd be surprised that many people are actually buying houses each day. And many people are selling houses as well! Don't believe me? Go to your local real estate dealer’s office and you'll see there are plenty of requests from people wanting to buy or sell houses. You can just be a ‘middle man’ to get the deal. In fact, all real estate agents are ‘middle men’ in reality. You can just tie up with a few real estate agents and negotiate for a commission from them if you help them to get the houses their customers are looking for, or to help their customers to sell off their house.

A few deals a month will land you in big commission checks because houses price can vary from $50,000.00 to $5,000,000.00! However, you do want to set a certain criteria of amount that you will not participate. Example, you might not do any deals below $25,000.00 (or whatever figure you choose) because you'll need to put in the same effort and yet the return is too minimal.

3. Seminar business

Do you see seminars conducted in your city or state? It can be any type of seminars. Doesn't matter what seminar it is. Pick up your phone and call the seminar organizers. Tell them you'll find participants to fit in their room and ask them how much commission they are willing to pay you per head. If the company is smart, they'll pay you good commission because they no longer need to invest their money in advertising. And secondly, they cannot lose because they are paying you for results only.

Once you have experience of it, you may even consider engaging your own speaker one day and organize it. This can be your quarter year project for quick, instant cash.

There are so many other ways to start a successful home business. I've not even covered on how to start a home business by using the internet (If you want to learn that, go get a copy of ‘5-Step System To Make Money Online VCD Package at http://www.sellingonlinesecrets.com ).

So don't give excuses for yourself that it’s too much work, you need a lot of money to get started, and so on. Those are all excuses you create for yourself because of unconscious fear of failure. Or your own limiting beliefs.

It’s your life. It’s your decision. Sit on it, and there is no way you can expect to start a home business. Start it today, and maybe you'll start making money in a few months and generate a full time income in a year or 6 months.

All the best.

Five Ways to Kill Your Home Business
by: Craig Friesen
Copyright 2008 Craig Friesen

I know it is better to be positive than negative. But speaking from experience sometimes you can do things that are bad for your home business without realizing it. You might even think you are doing the right thing when in fact you are hurting your online business. So here are some "top 5" ways you can throw your work-from-home opportunity down the drain (and how to avoid doing so):

1) Have no plan, vision or goals.
Sure, you may find success in your home business by accident. But you are more likely to keep your online business alive (and have it grow) by setting some direction. Besides, without a plan and destination how would you even know if you achieved success? Do some dreaming about what you would like your home based business to be in 2 years. Then set some attainable but challenging goals based on your vision. With your goals in mind, chart a plan for your home business.

2) Do nothing.
"If you build it, they will come." Wrong - who told you that? One of the most frequent mistakes made by newcomers to online business is the belief that if they can just build a nice looking website then they will earn money. Of course some marketing ploys feed on that assumption, luring Internet marketing rookies to purchase the only website they will ever need. Just like an offline business, your online opportunity does not usually sell itself. You need to somehow bring potential customers or clients to your business website. This takes hard work, consistency and determination to succeed.

3) Do too much.
You can't do too much of the right things. But please do not mistake activity for progress! I hear this all the time: "I spend xx hours a week at my computer and not one sale!" Quality not quantity, people. There are some promotional activities such as writing home business articles (hey, like I'm doing here!) and networking politely in business forums that you can never do too much of. But some marketing tools can be over used and actually harm your home based business. Examples: submitting too frequently to some search engines or blasting customer support with an endless line of similar requests.

4) Join everything.
If it is free to join, why not? Affiliate marketers especially are always on the lookout for the next great business opportunity. What happens, however, is that unless the business opportunity somehow compliments your primary home based business then you are going to end up spreading your efforts thin. Choose programs to join that provide you with marketing leverage or which will enhance what you are offering without providing unwanted competition. The other danger with free progams is that once you join there may very well be an "upgrade opportunity" that you will find difficult to pass up. Be sure that this is what you want before you click on the payment button...all those free programs upgraded adds up soon!

5) Spend lots of money on advertising.
This is a tough one. You would think that the people who spend the most money get the most traffic to their websites and therefore earn the most money. While this may be true, how much are you willing to spend to have the kind of traffic volume to your business opportunity that is going to pay off? It is really hard to tell. The best advice I can give you is to take it slow. Track the results of every advertising campaign so that you can assess how effective the method or ad itself is. If you do not track your marketing then you might just be throwing money down the drain. Spend too much too fast and you might soon find it difficult to keep your home based business running. You might even adversely affect your current lifestyle by piling up bills that you can't pay because the website advertising you chose is not bringing you a good return on investment.

There are other things that can help your home business become successful or kill it. And these may not be the "top 5" for you. Just listing these made me think of another 5 that have probably hurt my own home business. Time to make some adjustments!

Fuel For Your Business Success
by: Arun Pal Singh
Copyright 2008 Arun Pal Singh

May I ask a question if you do not mind…?

What does your business mean to you? Please choose an honest answer.
- Making a living.
- Freedom from job
- Realization of your dreams.
- All of the above

I hope you chose the right option.

Everyday million of people get up and think ‘Oh no! I have to go to office again.’ It is something they dread. Whether they realize this or not is a different issue. Have you noticed how excited people are over their weekends as they will be off the work and can enjoy.

That reflects they do not enjoy what they do. But they continue with that. Yes, they have sufficient reasons- mortgage, seniority, children and security to name a few. There is another good reason worth mentioning – lack of willingness and lack of initiative to start their own venture.

A lot of people dream about working for themselves. Dreaming is easy. It costs nothing.

But that is end for many. Moving beyond that involves risk. Their security is too precious.

Nevertheless with advent of internet, home business things have been made simpler and easier.

You do not need to leave your present job and still can start a home business that you can manage in your part time. Initial struggle period is buffered by your job. You can manage your investment capital better and there is job to fall back upon.

Things could not be simpler. Nice paradigm. A surge in home businessmen and businesswomen proves this.

But then people still fail in their ventures. There could not be better time. There could not be a better platform. But people still do not capitalize the opportunity to its full extent. What could be the reason?

No. Please do not say that internet saturation has occurred. The net is not to be blamed. Internet is wonderful medium of communication. It has made millions pursue and achieve their dreams. It is not saturated. Not yet and not for a long time in near future.
On the contrary it expands day by day.

It may appear a bit complex owing to its virtual entity but it is not saturated.

But internet is only a medium. It does not run business for you. It makes it automated and easier once you understand what is what. Still the person who does the business is responsible for outcome.

So what sets a successful businessman apart from an unsuccessful one hypothesizing that both have equal knowledge?

Motivation!

Zeal!

Passion!

I know an entrepreneur who would get up early and work till his eyes would droop with sleep again, socialized minimally and never cared about what he ate.

‘Why don’t you ever take a break and enjoy sometimes?’ Many including me asked.

‘I enjoy my work. Why should I take a break?’ He would always respond.

That man is millionaire now. Still works like crazy.

Though that state is an extreme for most of us but that does leave a lesson. To be a success one needs to work with passion.

When you bring passion to your business (Of course for that you need to like what you do). it reflects everywhere. It reflects in your website. It reflects in your sales letter, you promotions. You come across a genuine person. Your words start delivering the better message. Your results start improving and success prepones its appointment with you.

There could not be better key to success in home business. It is easier to admire a successful person’s working. But when we want the same success, the input has to be of similar nature.

Let me come back to my original question.

What was your response?

Business Success With Money Back Guarantee
by: Lil Waldner
An email writer has asked recently, why there is no money back guarantee on a certain advertised website. There are a lot of online offers with a money back guarantee. Thus many people expect a money back guarantee on offered solutions.

Money Back Guarantee As Bait?

You also might have read such kind of advertisment: “Make $ 100,000 a year – guaranteed” The website of this home business solution offers to remit you the money, if you do not succeed after a year. It’s even possible that this kind of turn-key website of a home business has worked in the early days of the internet. The readers can be sure that it does not work longer in these days. Anyway this kind of offers still are advertised. The suppliers just hope that the people forget to claim their rights after a year. If you look around these websites, you even may detect some warnings in forums that the people claim in vain their money.

There are tools for search engine optimization and a lot of further make money or extra income opportunities offered with a money back guarantee. Some of them may remit some money for failures, but most of them hope for forgetful customers. The money back guarantee is rather a clever bait to boost sales than a serious consumer protection.

It is difficult to claim money back from businesses, where the ownership sits thousands of miles away. It even can happen that a letter to a physical address of an attractive home business website bounces, because nobody is there. Only a recorded voice answers telephone calls. This shows the obstacles of getting the guaranteed money back in the online business world. It is not worthwhile to acquire a solicitor to get some dozens or hundreds of Dollars back. This is the reason that people do not really insist on a promised money back guarantee.

There Is No Risk Free Business Opportunity

The reality is: There is no risk free business opportunity. The higher the yield – the higher the risk. There are promising opportunities, but they are rare and they can be found by accident after doing a lot of researches, trial and error tests.

Where Does A Money Back Guarantee Make Sense?

This article does not state that consumer protection is worthless. It is very important in our consumer society. It is, however, difficult to execute consumer rights in the weakly regulated global world wide web. It makes sense to have a warranty on goods, e.g. cars, TV sets, laundry machines etc. There is a reliable physical address of the supplier. Law and social control are very effective in this field.

Common Sense Is Needed

The best advice is to decide with common sense about a home based business or make money opportunity in the internet. Promising opportunities to earn extra money still evolve in the internet. Furthermore: Persistence and patience are important preconditions for success. How many people give up too early in frustration, because they expect to get quick rich easily?

a home business but need cash? Perhaps you can qualify for a
small business loan.

However, before you attempt to borrow any money, you first
have to figure out how much money you need. The easiest way
to do this is by putting together a business plan. A good
business plan is critical to your business success.

It can be a simple one page outline or it can be many pages,
but it should spell out exactly how much money is needed and
what it will be used for; your potential market and
customers and potential for growth; what makes your business
unique from others; and a rational and conservative
projection of your business's cash flow.

Your plan will also help you set business goals and define
the steps necessary to help you reach those goals. It is a
guide for you to refer to on a regular basis to help
evaluate your business progress and help keep you focused on
your priorities.

Besides, a business plan is almost always required when
applying for a bank loan. If you need assistance in writing
a business plan, your local library should have several
books on the subject. You can also try Amazon.com. In
addition, you should be able to get help on writing a
business plan from one or more of the sources listed below:

1. The Small Business Administration (SBA) offers numerous
loan programs to assist small businesses. It is important
to note, however, that the SBA is primarily a guarantor of
loans made by private and other institutions.

2. The Service Corps of Retired Executives (SCORE) is a
volunteer management assistance program of the SBA that
provides one-on-one counseling, workshops, and seminars.
SCORE has chapters throughout the country. Many work in
conjunction with local Chambers of Commerce. SCORE and Visa
have also joined forces to help home-based and small
business owners. Contact your SBA office, local Chamber of
Commerce, or the following websites for more information:

3. Talk to your local bank. Find out what they require for a
business loan application and also if they are participants
in the SBA loan programs. Be diligent and shop around for
the best loan packages, and make sure you fully understand
the terms.

4. You may be able to borrow from insurance policies, IRAs,
401k's, stocks and securities, etc. Check with your
insurance agent. Also, investigate what the policies are
regarding borrowing from your mutual funds or retirement
account. Before borrowing, make sure you fully understand
the pay-back terms and any potential penalties.

5. Apply for a home equity loan. Borrowing against the
equity on your home is permitted in all states except Texas.
Just make sure you're diligent about paying back the loan or
you could end up losing your home.

6. If you're a woman, you may be eligible for a Specialty
Loan. These types of loans are now being offered by local
banks. Who knows? Filling out a one-page application just
might get you an unsecured credit line or loan ranging from
$2500 to $50,000.

7. Try borrowing from family members and/or relatives. If
you have a good relationship with your family, perhaps you
can make a persuasive argument for them to loan you money
for your home business. Just remember, borrowing from family
or relatives shouldn't be treated any differently than
borrowing from a bank. It's just as important to pay them
back on time as well.
